The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) is a global not-for-profit organisation that promotes better design around the world. Today, Icsid counts over 150 members in more than 50 countries, representing an estimated 150 000 designers.

Icsid members are professional associations, promotional societies, educational institutions, government bodies, corporations and institutions, which aim to contribute to the development of the profession of industrial design.

Icsid facilitates co-operation and interaction among these societies and supports a global network through which design institutions worldwide can stay in touch, share interests, experiences, and resources, as well as provides an international platform for its members to be heard as a powerful voice.

Founded in 1957, Icsid's history is steeped in the profession of industrial design. Here you will find a detailed account of organisation - from its humble beginnings to today.
The primary aim of the association is to advance the discipline of industrial design at an international level.
In order to create a stronger voice for designers and professional design support, we must build a strong and influential organisation. To become an Icsid member is therefore to strengthen the world of industrial design.
